Sweet Onions

California Red or Italian Red or Stockton Red - very flat appearance; extra sweet, while retaining onion flavor.

Vidalia - named for Vidalia County in South East Georgia, grown exclusively in about 20 counties; sweetest, mildest of all.

Texas 1015 - Texas, best plated on October 15, hence the name

Walla Walla - from Washington

Oso - from South America

Maui - from Hawaii

There are more and more onions that are claiming to be sweet.  Look for one that has that flat configuration, they're always the sweetest of all!
