SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- For the most part the fog cooperated as tens of thousands of people flocked to San Francisco's Embarcadero to see the Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza.
About thirty minutes after it got dark, the show began.
For some people, the 4th is much more than an excuse to eat, drink, and be merry.

One man relaxing in a prime viewing spot with his family came from Vacaville on public transit.
"This is an easy way," he said. "We love taking the ferry. It's a no-brainer: you're not worried about parking or anything."
