The San Jose Mercury News is reporting that two people are dead following a standoff in San Jose that lasted more than six hours.
The standoff started around 8:30 Monday morning in the Montecito Vista housing development in South San Jose.
A man with a gun reportedly shot his ex-wife and her husband inside the home. The husband managed to escape, along with the woman's 9-year-old daughter, but the woman wasn't able to make it out.
The standoff ended around 2:45, when police discovered that the suspect and his ex-wife were both dead.
A family member tells the Mercury News that the couple had recently won custody of the daughter, who was the biological daughter of the gunman, following a lengthy court battle.
