John Evans

John Evans is the newest addition to the KCBS news team. He spent the past 7 plus years hosting the afternoon show at Classical 102.1 KDFC. Prior to that, John was a smooth jazz and rock DJ but his first love is journalism. He’s worked in San Francisco radio for 30 years anchoring and reporting the news at some of the biggest stations including KPIX, K-101, KFRC and KYA.

John is an avid reader with an extensive home library of hundreds of hard covers, first editions and rare books. A favorite pastime is scouring the second-hand, independent bookstores of the East Bay. He’s also passionate about fitness and food. John is an accomplished CrossFit athlete and yoga practitioner….and he can whip up an amazing vegetarian/vegan meal. He, his partner and two Jack Russell Terriers live on half an acre in the Oakland Hills and what they don’t grow themselves they buy at local Farmer’s Markets. John’s a lifelong Giants fan, a SF history buff and speaks semi-fluent Italian.
