SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- Embattled San Francisco Supervisor Ed Jew returned to work Tuesday trying to go about business as usual despite calls for his resignation.
Jew refused to answer questions and has hired a criminal defense attorney to represent him in a federal criminal investigation about a $40,000 payment he received, and as he faces questions about his legal residence. He claims to live in the Sunset, in the district he represents, while his wife and child live in Burlingame.
Jew's Sunset neighbors say he is a rare sight at his 28th Avenue home.
Meanwhile, Supervisor Tom Ammino told KCBS Tuesday Jew should resign if the charges are true. And Board President Aaron Peskin said Jew has brought dishonor to the Board. City Hall insiders told KCBS Jew won't last the week.
