OAKLAND, Calif. (KCBS) -- BART's largest labor union approved a proposed contract agreement by a 75 to 25 percent vote Monday afternoon.
SEIU Local 1021President Lisa Isler said members voted 731 to 253 in favor of approving the four year deal.
"We are pleased with the vote," she said. We're just happy not to have this hanging over our heads any longer."

Voting began last Thursday and was extended until Monday afternoon.
The proposed contract provides for no layoffs or furloughs, no wage cuts and no raises over the next four years.
The tentative agreement was reached on July 31 following a marathon 27 hour negotiating session.
Voting results for BART's other two unions are expected to come in late Monday and Tuesday night.
