2010 Chevrolet Camaro l LT coupe

While the  popular muscle cars from Chevrolet, Ford and Dodge can run into the high 30-thousands or low 40s, there are models which are far cheaper, including our test car, the Camaro 6 cylinder automatic.
Even lavishly equipped, it's $29,400, and if ordered without leather, sunroof and fancy 20-inch wheels it's $23,800.
The 3.6 liter V6 offers 227 horsepower compared to the 6.2 liter V8 at 318 hp so there's a major difference in  performance, especially in high speed passing. The v6 does get underway briskly, thanks to clever gearing of its 6 speed automatic, and also pulls our residential hills quite nicely. Ride, steering and handling are first rate, and  mileage for this model is 18 city and 29 highway.
The Camaro's major drawback is visibility--the low roof and wide back pillar make the view of right rear traffic a combination  of luck and guesswork.
Our test car was a beautiful new color--imperial blue metallic and I actually had two drivers give me a thumbs up as they saw it. There may  have been others--at the right rear.
