Mercedes-Benz GLK350 4Matic
|
For many years, it seemed that the formula for building a sport utility was---the bigger the better.
Today, we might say--the shorter, the handier. Mercedes-Benz newest SUV--the 2010 GLK350 4Matic is a prime example.
It has the power, the ride comfort, sport handling and cargo space of many larger vehicles, but with the length of a passenger car.
Highway mileage is 21--not bad for an all-wheel drive model with a 3.5 liter V6 of 268 horsepower coupled to a 7 speed automatic. It purrs along quietly and shifts smoothly on the hills.
Seating for 5 is comfortable, the driver position is excellent, and the controls make sense.
Base price for a well-equipped model is $36,600--but go for heated seats, full leather, power lift gate, navigation, ultra fancy music and entertainment systems and the figure can reach $50,000....pricey, but the quality is there.
