This recipe was inspired by Harvey Steiman on The KCBS Kitchen and is a real winner for the summertime.
6 lemons
2 cups sugar
1 cup water
Squeeze the lemons. Strain the juice and set it aside. Cut two of the lemons into pieces and put them in a saucepan with the sugar and water. Heat the mixture until the sugar dissolves and simmer for 15 minutes. Strain the syrup and combine the syrup and the lemon juice in a jar and keep it refrigerated. This stays fresh for several days.
To make lemonade, fill a glass only 2/3 full with ice and water. Add 3-4 TBS syrup to taste and stir.
