SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- There's a lot going on in San Francisco this month, and events like Fleet Week, the Presidents Cup golf tournament, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, and the Oracle Convention could have a positive economic impact on the city.
Dan Goldes with the San Francisco Convention and Visitor's Bureau says they have been expecting this boon.
"The industry has been counting on this October and looking forward to it," he said. "Our goal and our challenge is to carry that over into the following months."

Goldes says November through February are traditionally slow months for tourism.
And 2009 has not been a great year for tourism in general. Goldes says the events in October will help but only so much.
"I don't think one good month can pull the city out of where it's been for the year," he said.
Convention attendance in San Francisco has been down about 10 percent this year. Hotel occupancy has been down only slightly, but hotel rates have fallen.
