2010 Mercury Milan Hybrid
|
While most car and truck hybrids have less than breath-taking performance, especially at highway passing speeds, there's a far better and safer quality built into the Mercury Milan and its near-twin, the Ford Fusion.
Here is a mid-size sedan which really takes off and continues its zestful acceleration into the 50-to 70 range, and still delivers 36 miles per gallon highway and 41 city. That’s better than the competition for this size car, indicating that it's running or assisting on electric power frequently at lower speeds.
The Milan is quiet and smooth with a CVT automatic transmission, steering is precise and brakes powerful.
Front and back seats are comfy and generous in legroom, while the trunk is moderately roomy -far better than some hybrids which can't seem to find a better place for the batteries.
The basic Milan Hybrid is listed at $27,500 but with power moonroof, TWELVE speakers (with that many they could entertain the engine) and navigation==it runs to $33, 735.
