Sonoma State Offers First Masters Degree in Wine Business

hands display wine bottleSAN FRANCISCO (KCBS)  -- Sonoma State University became the first in the nation to offer an MBA program in Wine Business because of demand from the local industry, according to Sonoma State’s Deborah Halbert.

"They just felt like the people that they were looking to recruit and retain on a long-term basis needed a broader and deeper business background," she said.

The school has had an undergrad wine business program for the last ten years. "We think that we're really going to have a much larger group looking for that MBA degree," said Halbert.

Applications for the fall semester are being accepted until mid-July.
