BERKELEY, Calif. (KCBS) - Protesters claiming to be UC Berkeley students have taken over a building on campus to condemn the recent decision to raise student fees.
Police say dozens of student protesters are occupying Wheeler Hall, one of the largest buildings on the Berkeley campus. The building has been surrounded by both campus and city police officers and their vehicles.
KCBS' Holly Quan reports
Outside one of the windows on the west side of the building, protesters have hung a banner protesting the fee increases. Protesters using a bullhorn have been calling on students to come out and support them.
