Potential Panda-monium at the Oakland Zoo

OAKLAND, Calif. (KCBS)  -- There is still some red tape to clear, but the Oakland Zoo is on track to receive two giant pandas from China. The zoo is in the process of getting the permits necessary to become caretakers of two juvenile pandas from China’s captive breeding program.

Only 11 other zoos in the world have pairs of the endangered species, whose numbers have dwindled because of poaching and habitat destruction.
