SAN JOSE, Calif. (KCBS) -- As you’re budgeting your holiday shopping this year, fundraisers for Silicon Valley’s largest hospital hope you will keep their wish-list in mind.
They're calling it their "Holiday Wish List" and the folks at the Valley Medical Center Foundation have a very clear goal for the project.
The foundation's executive director, Chris Wilder helped create the Wish List and is aiming to help several key Valley Medical Center programs.

"These are things that we need very badly. The county can't afford them right now. VMC can't afford them," Wilder said. "So, it's an opportunity for people to give to something very specific and know that they're going to make a difference in the lives of patients."
For example, the program to fund monitoring devices to protect brain injury patients.
"This would be a device that would help us monitor these patients and make sure we know if they're attempting to get up out of bed," said Wilder.
Or, the very timely program to address concerns about the H1N1 virus.
"Swine flu is hitting our community very hard and what I'd like to see and what our staff would love to see are flu stations at each of the entrances of our medical centers," Wilder said.
Wilder said VMC staff submitted more than 40 suggestions for the wish list, which a committee narrowed down to four.
