Muni Service Getting Back on Track

San Francisco, Calif. (KCBS)  -- There are minor delays at this hour with Muni's metro service.

Several inbound lines were running about a half hour behind because of track switching problems near the Embarcadero station.

"It's actually a split switch. It sounds as though a train was coming through and there was a mechanical problem. The middle wheels actually are on different track than front wheels," said Muni Spokeswoman Maggie Lynch.

"It appears although a switching problem it resulted in one of the trains leaving the tracks at a crossing point where they switch and go in a different direction," said KCBS' Barbara Taylor at the scene.

Taylor said it appeared to be business as usual for all the underground lines except for the N-Judah.

She said the N, which runs past AT&T Park to the Caltrain station, is moving but going slowly through the tunnel as it continues to the ball park.
