New England’s annual haddock catches routinely were over 100 million pounds during the 1960s. But by 1994, it was down to 725,000 pounds. In 2004, it climbed to 18 million pounds. They’re hoping for 20-40 million pounds this year.
I’m hoping that they’re going to start making Fin and Haddy – it’s a very pale yellow color, smoked lightly, very moist, and poached with boiled potato. One of the best winter dinners you can have!
