SANTA CLARA, Calif. (KCBS) -- Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney held a townhall meeting in Santa Clara Monday as he visited the Bay Area for a fundraiser at the Atherton home of eBay C-E-O Meg Whitman.
The former venture capitalist touted his business resume as he projected himself as the most experienced candidate to lead the nation. He also addressed his Silicon Valley audience by saying he felt it was time to bring the technology and innovation that springs from the area to the capital Beltway.
Later, Romney condemned Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's speech at Columbia University. Ahmadinejad received a blistering reception for his country's human rights record and statements denying the Holocaust.
Romney said the Iranian president should not be allowed to speak at Columbia or the United Nations. Instead, he suggested Ahmadinejad should visit the Holocaust Museum.
Romney is on a five-day swing through California.
